About the role

You will design and build data platforms on Google Cloud for finance and operations teams, turning data from Workday, Oracle and other systems into models people report on. See how we deliver Google Cloud Data Analytics and BI.

What you will do

  • Design BigQuery datasets and data models for finance and operations reporting.
  • Build ingestion and transformation pipelines with Dataflow, Dataform or dbt, and Cloud Composer.
  • Extract data from Workday, Oracle ERP and EPM, and other sources reliably.
  • Build semantic models and dashboards in Looker or Looker Studio.
  • Set up data quality checks, access controls and cost monitoring.

What you bring

  • Three or more years of data engineering, including production work on BigQuery.
  • A Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer certification, or able to earn it within your first 90 days.
  • Strong SQL and Python.
  • Experience with at least one orchestration tool.

Nice to have

  • Workday or Oracle data structures.
  • LookML.
  • Terraform.

  • Direct client work. You work with the client’s finance, HR and IT teams yourself, with no layers of account managers in between.
  • Small, senior teams. The consultants who scope the work deliver it, with a senior Cogleus lead on every engagement.
  • Remote across the United States. If an engagement needs time on site, we tell you before you start.
  • Room to grow. Our projects span Workday, Oracle EPM and ERP, and Google Cloud, so your work doesn’t have to stop at one module.
